Built in just 410 days during the Great Depression, from its completion in 1930 this limestone tower was a point of pride among downtrodden New Yorkers in times of social and economic hardship. This iconic building has been featured in several movies including King Kong, Sleepless in Seattle, Elf, and The Amazing Spider-Man among others.
You can visit any time, though early hours or later in the day is best if you're looking to avoid the crowds. Booking Empire State Building Tickets during the holiday season is also not ideal as it can get very crowded.
You can’t miss this tower - just look up! Flag down a yellow cab or jump on the subway to get to the Empire State relatively quickly. The two closest subway stations to the are 34th Street - Herald Square and 33rd Street at Park Avenue.
Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper that is 1250 feet high and soars 1454 feet high with its antenna.
Empire State Building is open every day from 8 am to 2 am.
You can buy a ticket that offers access to the Observatory Deck of the building after 10 pm and take in the most gorgeous views.
