Overview

Discover ancient Rome’s version of the modern-day shopping mall with a visit to the Trajan's Market. Also known as Mercati di Traiano, it is one of the most fascinating areas of Rome’s five Imperial Forums, built by Julius Caesar and his successors at the very helm of the Imperial Age. Discover the unique archeological area complex and observe the evolution of the city from the Imperial Age.

The markets were the strategic administrative centre during its hey days with all the kind of shops, successively became a noble residence, a military fortress and a prestigious convent.

Discover the different Forum Areas as Caesar’s Forum, Augustus’ Forum, Nerva’s Forum and the Templum Pacis. Admire the collections of ancient sculptures and amphorae in the Fori Imperiali Museum. Observe a unique evidence of a 17th century cistern.
