Visit the best known private gallery in Rome and explore its timeless private art collection with admission to the Palazzo Doria Pamphilj.
Admire the works of Caravaggio, Tiziano e Raffaello and many other well-known Italian artists. The gallery boasts a collection that was started by Pope Innocent X Pamphilj in 1644 and currently consists of over 400 paintings dating from the 15th to the 18th century. Oddly, the placement of the paintings remains unchanged over the centuries, proven through an 18th-century document that details the exact placement of each one of the paintings.
The Gallery is the part of Palazzo Doria Pamphilj surrounded by fascinating history, made up of nobility, politics and the unions between some of the most important noble families.
The Palazzo Doria Pamphilj has for centuries housed a unique private collection, not only in terms of quality but also by the sheer number of masterpieces.
